NOW PLAYING:

WXDU News, Sports, and Information Sunday 12/13 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Up first tonight at 6:00, Helen Yu profiles the Inside-Outside Alliance on Discovering Durham. The Inside-Outside Alliance is a community organization that advocates for current and former Durham County jail inmates and their families. On this episode, Helen sits down with Cynthia Fox, a member of the Inside-Outside Alliance whose son was previously incarcerated in Durham County, and Steve Lorenze, one of the organization's founders.

Then at 7:00, we join BackStory with the American History Guys for a look at religion in America. On "American Prophets: Religions Born in the U.S.," the Guys examine both the impact and evolving face of this nation's spirituality, from the Pilgrims' immigration to America in search of religious freedom, to the conversion of Native Americans to Christianity, to the effect of the Civil Rights Movement on African American faith.
