Ticket Giveaway for Sagan Youth performance at Morehead Planetarium

WXDU will offer a ticket giveaway this week to the Sagan Youth performance. On April 2, Sagan Youth will perform their upcoming science-fiction concept album Cela at the Morehead Planetarium and Science Center. Doors will open at 7:00 PM and the show will begin promptly at 8:00 PM.

Cela will be released on Break World Records May 5. Early copies of the LP will  be available at the show when purchased with the ticket HERE.

Using full-dome projection capability, the planetarium will provide an immersive experience that transports the audience through vast reaches of the Solar System, eventually landing on Saturn’s icy moon and the album’s namesake, Enceladus (aka Cela).

The band will perform live using analog synthesizers and effects while resident projectionist, Nick Eaves, provides real-time visualizations of the cosmos.

“The Morehead will give the audience the closest Earthly analog of the voyage to Cela possible,” says Philip Maier, one half of the Sagan Youth duo.

A 10-song science-fiction concept album, Cela chronicles the journey to and exploration of Saturn's icy moon Enceladus. The story is portrayed not only through vividly emotive tracks but also by an intricate comic which graces the inside of the album's gatefold sleeve.
