WXDU's Mission
WXDU, as a member of the Duke University Union, exists to inform, educate, and entertain both the students of Duke University and the surrounding community of Durham through quality progressive alternative radio programming. WXDU seeks to give its staff the freedom to pursue their personal aesthetic within the framework of a cohesive format. WXDU aims to provide the listener with an alternative viewpoint untainted by commercial interests. WXDU resolves to maintain good relations with the music industry without compromising its integrity and nationally recognized commitment to quality programming. WXDU resolves to remain a laboratory where all members are free to make and learn from their mistakes.

Then at 6:30, WXDU News will feature an episode of DW's Living Planet series called "Africa at Risk." This report examines ecological issues jeopardizing Africa's population and economy, including how climate change affects the continent despite its relatively low contribution of greenhouse gases, one engineer's response to power disruptions in South Africa, the impact of the water shortage in Kenya and threats to a species of tree that plays an integral role in medicine.

Stay tuned for WXDU Sports at 7:00. Martin Kang will have a look at how the Duke men's and women's basketball teams fared in ACC tournament play and NCCU's men's and women's squads' performance in MEAC tournament action, plus the latest on Duke's men's and women's lacrosse teams' successful seasons. Then he'll have a look at depictions of Native Americans in football with a segment from BackStory with the American History Guys titled "War on the Gridiron." He'll wrap up tonight's show with the audio diaries of first round draft pick Adam Hyzdu's path to the Major Leagues, with the first half of the "Hyzdu Diaries," produced by KJZZ.
