WXDU's Mission
WXDU, as a member of the Duke University Union, exists to inform, educate, and entertain both the students of Duke University and the surrounding community of Durham through quality progressive alternative radio programming. WXDU seeks to give its staff the freedom to pursue their personal aesthetic within the framework of a cohesive format. WXDU aims to provide the listener with an alternative viewpoint untainted by commercial interests. WXDU resolves to maintain good relations with the music industry without compromising its integrity and nationally recognized commitment to quality programming. WXDU resolves to remain a laboratory where all members are free to make and learn from their mistakes.

INTERESTED IN WORKING AT WXDU?

all who are interested in becoming a deejay at WXDU in either music or non-music programming are invited to our semesterly new dj information session/interest meeting !

the meeting will be held tomorrow night (jan. 14) at the duke coffeehouse at 7 p.m.

you can find the duke coffeehouse on duke's east campus. turn onto trinity ave from buchanan rd and follow the parking lots to the crowell building. you will ascend at metal staircase to the coffehouse. it is above student health

there will be pizza from lilly's pizza for dinner. vegan pizza will be served !

NO PRIOR RADIO EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED. POSITIONS ARE OPEN TO ALL MEMBERS OF THE DURHAM AND DUKE COMMUNITIES

this information session is for both those who are interested in musical programming (deejaying) and those who are interested in non-musical programming (radio journalism, sports, etc). if you're not sure which of those you're interested in, you can take part in both :)

 

Brickside Music Festival

~Brickside is a music festival coming to Duke's East campus on March 24~

We are proud to announce that Kurt Vile, Supreme Dicks, the Postelles, Royal Baths, Gunn Truscinski Duo will be playing at the Duke Coffeehouse. Mark Kozelek (of Sun Kil Moon and Red House Painters) will be playing at a special venue -- many more bands and venues will be announced soon. Stay tuned!

Make the journey to east to listen to over dozen of the best rock and folk bands from the around the country. 

$12 for Duke students
$18 for general admission

Tickets will be available at the Duke Coffeehouse (every day 6pm-2am), the Duke box office (M-F 11am-6pm) and select on-campus locations beginning March 13.
 

WXDU Funko Disco Dance Party @ Wheels Skating Rink on Dec. 9

Hey WXDU listeners! Come to the 7th annual FDDF (funk disco dance Friday) Throwdown at Wheels next Friday, Dec. 9 from 10pm-1am!

You'll be skating all night while DJs Viva, Stephen Conrad, Matt Tauch, and Nate Smith bring us the tunes to boogy on the skate floor.

There will be a bus shuttling attendees from Duke East Campus to Wheels from 10pm to 1am, so there's no need to drive.

This event will be FREE to those with a Duke ID, and $5 to those without. Skate rental is included!

This is a public event; please bring your friends!
